Gateway Classic Cars of Chicago is proud to present this very unique 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS. This Camaro has had a storied history, and is a collectors dream. This Camaro SS started life by being shipped to SLP to be converted into a ZL575. Only 500 Camaros received this treatment in 2010, making this a rare car. Part of the package is fitting a supercharger and upping horsepower from the factory 426 to a monstrous 575.
What really sets this Camaro apart is that it is serial #001 to receive the full Hurst conversion. Included is front and rear bumpers, revers-flip shaker-style hood, custom headlights and tail lights, custom ground effects, custom spoiler, custom rims, and most impressively is a T-top conversion. And that’s just what you see from the outside!
Step inside and be greeted by the custom leather seats, custom Hurst gauge pack, Hurst shifter, and an aftermarket touch screen radio. The windows are tinted dark to give a hidden-away vibe to this reimagining of a classic. A recent service including a fresh set of spark plugs have this 6.2l V8 running like a dream. The Hurst shifter gives a positive engagement feel, while still managing to be effortlessly smooth between gears.
Turning the key will instantly bring the aluminum engine to life, with the dual twin-exit turn down tail pipes singing the sweet sounds of horsepower front behind the quarter panels, in true Trans-Am fashion. This powerful Trans Am conversion was unveiled in 2012 at SEMA and was immediately met with massive positive feedback.
Since its debut, the remainder of the 5th and 6th generation Camaros have been available to be converted into Trans Ams as part of a purchasable package. This, being serial #001, is the first example to have been produced, and reintroduced an icon into the spotlight. This Trans Am has just over 3,800 miles since new, and has only been improved on since rolling off the assembly line. The black paint is shined to a mirror finish, the leather interior is soft as can be, and the horsepower is aplenty!
