As a new decade began in 1950 a lot of changes were coming for the Fenders were starting to be more incorporated into the body creating a more boxed look that would become prevalent for all manufactures just a few years later. This 1950 Chevy Business Coupe is a body on restored car and is a real cool looking custom. It has a lot of uniqueness to it and really stands apart next to other stock ones out there. It is also incredibly unique in that you do not see too many of these being customized in such a way. The solid body is very straight and painted in an exceptionally clean Maroon and Silver two tone combination. It has almost a lead sled styled inspiration being shaved of any large emblems and incorporating a custom "toothed" painted to match grill. The custom front and rear bumpers also have a great look and are nicely chromed. They add the perfect touch of chrome while keeping a sleek look. All the glass is good and slightly tinted with a split windshield up front. The two tone pinstriping is nicely laid down and accents the hood, trunk and around the frenched taillights. The license plate is frenched as well and sits nicely between the split bumper. I5 inch Centerline wheels complete the exterior and have a genuinely nice shine. They are wrapped in 195/65Rl5 front tires and P225/70Rl5 in the back.
It has the look, but does it have the drivetrain to back it up? You bet it does! Now nestled under that 50 Chevy hood is a sitting a well-built 454 V8 motor that runs great. It has a lot of power and features plenty of chrome accents you will want to show off at shows. The headers dump into a dual exhaust system that is hidden out of site but deliver a great sound. An aftermarket aluminum radiator was added and along with electric fans always keeps this classic running cool. A 700R4 automatic backs it up and transfers power to the 10-bolt rear end. Disc brakes have been added up front and are power assisted. It has power steering as well which are nice modern comforts that make the car an exceptionally smooth driver.
Complete suspension upgrade with new leaf springs, coil springs and shocks front to back. New gear reduction high torque starter and chrome fly wheel cover.
The interior is done in a gray cloth and is in great shape. It has adjustable bucket seats with headrests and a custom insert that is amazingly comfortable. They sit to each side of the custom center console that contains the Lokar shifter, emergency brake handle, tachometer, and AM/FM/CD/USB stereo. It is fitted with a custom stainless piece that really finishes it off nicely. Looking up the headliner is done in vinyl with a custom designed center section that is framed in maroon piping. The dash combines modern with classic as it is topped with standard trim, knobs, and switches but in place of the original gauge is a pewter faced Classic Instrument gauge cluster. Other nice features include the power window controls, painted tilt column and aftermarket steering wheel. The trunk is all done in a matching maroon color and houses the relocated battery.
This cool 50 Chevy has a lot going for it especially if you are in the market for something different. It is ready to roll and is looking for a new driver to take the wheel!
